What's Hot

About a couple of years ago I bought the Blonde Bassman combo that Chris at Rift had built off a local forumite. Over the years it had been a bit used and abused.... there was a fault when I bought it along with a few other issues. So I bit the bullet and took it back to Chris (his workshop is about 25 mins drive away). You may have seen it in some of his recent videos... anyhow we had a new cab made for it, a new set of output valves and the bass channel modded to a Fender black panel normal channel. It sounds killer! Any way here's a link to Chris' website featuring my amp. https://www.riftamps.com/blondie

I did want a tweed covered cabinet but Chris @RiftAmps talked me around.

Looks stunning. How does it compare to the Hamstead?

The Hamstead feels it has more volume and can do more things but in terms of base tone they are slightly different with the Rift having the scooped thing going on in the 1st channel (the mod Chris carried out) and  the normal channel having a similar tone. I could gig the Hamstead on its own without the need for pedals due to the master volume, on board reverb and mid voice switch.
