NGD Smoke

What's Hot
I’ve had serious gas for one of these for a while and while I’ve no issues really with my Electromatic G5420 I couldn’t resist the pull for the Brian Setzer Smoke 6120.

It’s absolutely fantastic and I’’m now coming to the end of my return period from the wonderful people at Coda Music, it’s not going back, definite keeper :)

  • Nice guitar, but it would look far better without that white bit under the bridge.

Ha yes that’s true but as it was under the return period I didn’t want to take anything off , just keep it like new in case it had to be returned.

I will remove it and the plastic on the pick guard when I next change strings.

This is the first time I’ve ever bought a guitar from a shop without having tried it first. I must admit I was a bit reluctant to buy sight unseen however Doug and Marc from Coda Music were both fantastic helping me and reassuring me that for whatever reason I didn’t bond with it I could return it no problems.
Excellent customer service from them and I wouldn’t hesitate to use Coda again.

    Sorry - I didn't realise it's a protective layer.

Dream guitar right there! I've been putting money aside for a 6120 for a while and the smoke would be the absolute top choice for me! Such a well specced model. Congratulations, I hope you enjoy!

It’s a cracking guitar, the slight v neck is fantastic as are the tones from the Filtertrons. The build quality is faultless, can’t find anything to quibble about.
The slightly slimmer body depth makes it seem easier to handle than my Electromatic 5420, however the 5420 has a better acoustic sound to it, probably because of the deeper body and different bracing.

Saying that, I find the 6120 the perfect couch guitar to noodle away on while watching tv :)

Hopefully you’ll get your own Smoke soon, I’ve no regrets buying this model at all.

@marooned just wanted to say, earlier today I took a trip to Exeter and left with a Smoke! Back in October totally out of reach, it's funny how things work out!

    haha excellent news!
I own a few guitars but hardly touched any others in the last 6 months, Smoke is such a fantastic guitar.
Enjoy your new Gretsch and let us know how you get on with it :)

    It's not white, it's '59 vintage cream.

Lovely guitar. I spend a lot of time with my 6120-60, which despite being the most unpopular iteration of the 6120, is a stonker!
