Was wondering why I hadn’t had my scheduled 80% off FVF weekend recently…!

Yes, I was starting to worry, but a selling buying bonanza seems on the horizon.
Ten years too late and still getting it wrong

Colour me cynical but I'd think they'd have email-shotted everyone to say "hey, no more fees!!"  if that were true, great if it were but sounds somewhat unlikely..??

Wow, that's great. And a big, big blow to Reverb.

Don't be cynical, I've just opened the app and it was right there.

It's on eBays front page, a link to sell for free. I would've thought they'd send an email or message, can't moan, I've got a load of crap I need to shift .

Well that's nice but I'm still not listing anything worth a lot when all it takes is for the buyer to decide they changed their mind, make something up and suddenly you're paying return postage or getting nothing back at all.

On the one hand I'm obviously happy with this news.  Then again with the 80% discounts I was only paying pittance on the stuff I was selling anyway.
On the other hand I'm gutted because the 80% discount was the only perk we long-standing sellers had for being on eBay for years, selling loads, and being well behaved.  Now loyalty's out the window.  They should at least give long-standing sellers back the ability to leave negative feedback.  One can dream.

Just the usual bullshit scam, they've been doing it for years. "Woohoo everyone we've now scrapped the 5p listing fee, you can now list for free!" You still have to pay the 10 to 13 percent final value fee. Not my idea of free. I'll stick to selling elsewhere.

I think the new policy dispenses with the final value fee. That's the main point of the change and what makes it "free".

On Tuesday, eBay said its move, which has taken effect immediately, meant private sellers would no longer pay so-called final value fees or regulatory operating fees when they sold on the site.

    No. FVFs are gone.

It is a positive move but my issue with eBay as a seller is a lack of protection from dodgy buyers who claim they didn't receive the thing or claim it was broken during shipping.

Blimey looks like it's actually kosher then!
I only ever sold stuff when the 80% off offers arrived occasionally. Presumably everyone will get an email from evilbay to announce it shortly.
Cool, I've no doubt got some stuff I can shift :)

Good stuff. I prefer to sell here obviously but this is good news. That being said, they still don’t back sellers well enough. I’ve just been stung by an idiot (hopefully I’ve only lost postage costs) as I await the return of a noisy “unusable” pedal that was like new and working perfectly when it left me.

The news report I read this morning said that eBay is looking at introducing buyers’ fees early next year.

Give with one hand, take back with the other.

    We’ll see…….

People have obviously boycotted them enough to realise they didn't have a viable business model anymore. I wonder what the next money making scheme will be.

Maybe we will start getting ad breaks when browsing eBay soon?

Good news. I'll be listing my Strat soon in that case. Will be stipulating pick up only, though as I don't want the potential aggro.
