I don't think he's cynical about it - it's just the normal guitarist gear cycle. Also, he's played on some proper records with some real artists that I admire. Which is impressive. I think I'd like him if I met him. Pretty sure he'd think I'm a cunt though. 

The other thing about JNC is the sheer quantity and quality of the tutorial material he puts out there. It’s more than enough to offset any of the click-baity stuff he needs to do to feed the algorithm. Especially when a lot of the other YouTubers do nothing like that and often are fairly naff players.
