  • I'd be up for a swap or a buy at cost. I'm not bothered by any of the distortions, but blooper, habit and mood have been on my list for a while, and I'd happily have clean, lossy, onward etc.

I'm probably going to buy one, I generally hate blind boxes, but with a 14 day return and the possibility of a swap on here, I think it's worth a punt.

Blooper is one I don't want...it is the only one on the EU side that I have.

  • Looks there will be some hard negotiating in the future over whichever bloopers come in. I ordered mine this morning after a stern talking to by my partner, who insists that I deserve it. Who am I to argue?

  • I’m being a bit thick - which pedals are included for UK/EU and which are definitely excluded?

It's the pedals currently on sale in the EU site EXCEPT the ones made illegal by the EU, so all the old stuff like Warped Vinyl, or even Dark World.

This will exclude hand painted, or prototype versions of those too.  I imagine what is left in the EU would be the pool of what is on sale on the EU website, so no old stuff.

Some boxes will get a pedal + something else.  The something else would be things like pins, another pedal like EXP or even a pedal from another manufacturer.  So you could get 2 pedals.

But because of the EU law, the part excluded does the timing....so no Thermae, no Dirt Bird (or any Condor), no WV, no Dark World, or the PreAmp Mkii.

I suspect it will also exclude Tonal Recall (as Thermae is excluded), it might even exclude Brothers (no Condor and Preamp mkii).

This all translate to a much smaller pool of possibility from the EU side.  It's a good thing if you want a new pedal.  Not very good if you are after something one off unique pedal like a prototype or handpainted edition.

Speaking as someone who have prototype pedals and very limited colour CBA pedals....you can't play the colour.  I much prefer a new pedal.

Give me the CXM 1978 any day of the week over a handpainted Wombtone.

I put in an order last night about 15 minutes before they sent the email to say future orders will be dispatched in Jan. Hoping for anything other than Gen Loss or Mood. Would love to get a CXM or Clean but that seems very unlikely.

My descending priority list of current stuff I want:

    CXM, Onward, Clean

i might accept a Mood mkI too (have a mkII), or a current MKII gen loss (I have the original MKII variant and the board was changed slightly)

anything else, unless somehow they do get some old stuff by magic - I’ll be considering swaps!

Same, but I also have Mood OG and Gen Loss mk1... a "prototype", it's a demo unit.

I was doing some off the fag packet maths in my head....

4662 sold....assuming 10,000 will be sold in total.  I then guess the following

    Pins - 5
    CXM - 10? 20?
    Rare hand painted pedals.....50?
Old stock mk1 versions of pedals .....100-120 combined??  Like 5 or 10 of each one made before
    Pedals from other brands.....100? 200?

I imagine only 5% max of the boxes will have unique stuff, the other 95% will be current model and stock.

I will look out on ebay for all the unwanted pedals early next year then?

  • Good point in that UK buyers are more likely to get something from the current range, if you're after something that lineup.

  • ha this one is a struggle for me. I went to grab my wallet and ultimately I am so close to being able to buy a another Trent and get another Zilla cab so I can finally build up to my stereo rig which will open so much . Things like this are such a distraction to me ha and I love it. Having a week to decide is dangerous. I also have £1200 worth of lovely pedals to sell including the brite light chase bliss mood mk2, Only production pedal I would need would be the onward and I already have so much glitch so best to keep out of it.

Amazing that you can return them. The 5 golden pins are such a draw fro me like a non creepy willy wonka  situation but ya if your looking at 10,000 plus orders and  maybe 2 of those pins making it to Europe thats not great odds ha.

Such a genuinely excellent company and I think every decision they make is so well considered and they learn every time they do something.

I did the wren and cuff mystery box and it took 3 week longer than it should of so I cancelled it. I think I have got to the point is that I want what I want and thats it ha otherwise its just so overwhelming.

Joel just said on TGP, replying to a user there that:-

    "
we recently decided internally that any Mystery Box that contains a Dark World, Warped Vinyl HiFi, or Gravitas will also at least also include a EXP roller ($199 value)... so that's $498 on any of those.

So, yes, the worst thing that will happen is that you'll get a screaming deal. Mystery Box Joel is a lot of things but to insinuate that he's not ALL ABOUT MYSTERY BOX VALUE, is well, probably the biggest insult one could hurl at the fella."

    Latest update

Get it if you want it....and receiver it in February!

    ----

I know that we just sent out an email yesterday but I felt like another update was already necessary. It has become clear that shipping timelines are going to be even longer than we already originally anticipated. Real talk, we're probably going to have shut this party down a bit earlier than we initially planned (December 2nd), but we're still ironing out the details with that.

Here is where things currently stand:

    • Mystery Boxes are still currently available and we will be adding even more Friends of Bliss pedals each day.
    • If you ordered a Mystery Box before 4pm CT yesterday, we will do our best to get you your Mystery Box in December. If you ordered your Mystery Box between 4pm yesterday and noon today,  we will do our best to get you your Mystery Box in January. From here on out we will aim for February. We will do everything we can to beat these timelines. Our fulfillment team are doing their dang best!
    • Non-Mystery Box orders will be fulfilled within a week. We are still running a 15% off sale worldwide + our no import fee promotion for international customers.
    • Regardless of when your order ships, all Mystery Box items will be evenly distributed – nobody has to worry about missing out on a golden pin, for example.

Joel also mentioned in that thread on TGP is that he doesn't really want to still shipping Holiday Mystery boxes in March.  At the rate they are going, they will have to close very soon since it went from December to January to February inside 36 hrs.

First ever CB purchase from me, a mystery box for some reason is more appealing than watching lots of bloopy lo fi demos and trying to decide "WTAF would I use that for?"

I would Love a Preamp but never bought one as the prices were too high for me at release time.

I'm order #9078 so hopefully get shipped before January?
