Welcome to the 30th Poopot's Cover Challenge
The winner of our last challenge was
@IMC1980 ;;; who has been tasked with the unenviable picking of a song beginning with the letter Q
which is a song by someone from my hometown and I recall when she was a keyboard player in a local band before they split and the guitarist Big John Duncan joined Nirvana for a tour prior to Pat Smear becoming the extra guitarist but I digress....
...
Queer by GarbageIf don't want to cover the chosen track then you can choose any song starting with Q or Q preceded by "the" from the millions of other songs beginning with Q like... yeah... okay there aren't exactly millions and that's probably one of the better ones out there...
So if you cover the chosen track you will automatically receive a
bonus 5pts as a head start

Now, can I do it justice while also doing something different with it.
I like that it's going to be quite different than my current choice of Que Sera Sera
"You don't know what you've got till the whole thing's gone. The days are dark and the road is long."
Unless perhaps it's a song I really like and would be willing to abuse my powers
"You don't know what you've got till the whole thing's gone. The days are dark and the road is long."
The problem I have lately is that there's a banging Malmsteen track for every letter lol ... fml ... etc
There's only three 'Q' songs on my iPod, and one of them is indeed by Yngwie J.
Q - Queen in Love by Yngwie Malmsteen
R - Rising Force by Yngwie Malmsteen or Race with the Devil on Spanish Highway by Al Di Meola
S - Stars by Yngwie Malmsteen or Satch Boogie by Joe Satriani (the drum programming alone would be hard AF) or Scarified by Racer X
T - Trilogy Suite Opus 5 by Yngwie Malmsteen or Through The Fire and The Flames by DragonForce or Tumeni Notes by Steve Morse or Technical Difficulties by Racer X

You could add Spanish Fly by Van Halen if he has a spare few minutes.
I've actually done versions ot the R and T Malmsteens, the S Racer X and T Dragon Force before. And used to play Satch Boogie in a covers band. But .... I've not done any of them in a while so ... I have a list. They will have to be "straight" and not interpretations I guess, otherwise what's the point.
Sometimes I think you actually wish me harm ha ha.
"You don't know what you've got till the whole thing's gone. The days are dark and the road is long."
Really enjoyed the rhythm part and the bass, finding the right sounds for the guitar and keys, choosing not to do a classic Malmsteen "ego mix" where guitar is in the middle, singer be damned. BUt aside from all the .. .the vocals are stupid ... just fucking stupid. And the solo ... I've done a lot of Malmsteen stuff and this really was a case of "do it in parts ... that's good enough". I think this was a jammed solo tbh.
Ah well, it's done now and I can concentrate on the ACTUAL cover challenge ...
