Nice spot! Had an email flyer saying there would be new releases at NAMM. Makes sense as the next move for them id say given how popular the Tonex family has become.

Seems over complicate rot me - who wants IR’s and midi on an FRFR cab, surely most would do it in their modelling box of choice. I think Fender’s success with the FR10 / FR12 has been the simplicity.

Aye. More expensive that I anticipated.

700euro on the website, so that will exchange to £10000000000000 no doubt.

Looks more like a Powercab approach than a Fender FR10/12 Laney LFR take.

    "demo"

I didn't watch it but I'm guessing the verdict was positive.

I agree - the simplicity of the Fender cabs is great - but flexible enough with the eq to tune for the room on a gig etc, without having to delve into altering multiple presets on a multifx

Surely having midi to switch eq presets on a patch by patch basis is pointless - you`d just eq the patches to take that into account in the first place - and if you have 6 presets, how could you amend them quickly on a gig?

    Maybe I`ve missed the point.

It's not like IK Multimedia to over complicate a good idea now is it :)

My exchange rate calculation might be a little off, but it is a bit expensive.

Could be a good match for pedalboard pre-amps, things like Revival Drive etc

I think the price is fair compared to buying a tonex and an fr12 and you get the convenience of having it all in one box.
Current owners of a tonex might object to effectively having to buy a second tonex when they just want a can but the fr12 covers that and ik will be looking for new ways to sell the technology.

Not for me as they over complicate everything and I hate using their gear live but I can see a market for it.

This doesn't include a Tonex pedal equivalent by the way, not as far as i can tell anyway? So you'd still need a preamp

I don't think that's how it works is it? The presets are just for EQ and IR - so you'll still need to buy a tonex pedal, or similar?

Paul Drew of The Studio Rats explains and demos it here.

It has an interesting set of features, but I'm not sure they're really required with a modeller (they have it all).
The Fender FRFRs will take a lot of beating as they're becoming a bit of a front runner in this department and have the EQ adjust features, tilt legs, more watts and aren't as expensive. That said, if it can handle bass as well as guitar and better than the Fender, that might change things for me.

IR loader is the biggest selling point for me. I’d likely use the midi too.

There’s simpler stuff out there already, if you don’t need the IR loader then the Fender FR speakers are great.
