In a bit of news - my favourite podcast of all time, Dead Rock Stars has agreed to do the show live on the Saturday night.

I had a lovely lunch with Mick Wall and Joel McIver a few months ago and they agreed to bring the Podcast to the show.

It is a ticketed show but if you already have a ticket you can just add this to your order.

    Here is some blurb

Get ready for the live debut of Dead Rock Stars, the enlightening and wholly debauched podcast presented by former Classic Rock editor and star Kerrang! writer Mick Wall and author Joel McIver. Between them, these two rock writers have written over 50 books on music and contributed to dozens of publications.

The DRS podcast, originally produced by 7digital – whose resumé includes Bruce Dickinson’s Rock Show and Radcliffe And Maconie for BBC 6 Music – first ran from 2018 to 2019 and celebrated Wall and McIver’s combined decades of experience in rock writing, with the stated objective of revealing to listeners exactly what a particular deceased rocker was like in the flesh.

As DRS is going live for the very first time at the 2025 Guitar Show, we'll be focusing on all your favourite departed guitar heroes, from Jimi Hendrix and Randy Rhoads to Dimebag Darrell Abbott and beyond. Do not miss this!

It will be doors from 17.00 (starting at 17.30) until 19.00

    Ticket link is HERE

What's the parking like? I had a look on Google Maps and there doesn't seem to be much parking space.
One day I'm going to make a guitar out of butter to experience just how well it actually plays.

two large car parks plus the venue have agreed with several of the businesses on the estate that we can use their car parks as it is the weekend.

I'll be there on Sunday but as Albion are away it could be Saturday. There's a slight chance I may be in the market for a guitar, too. Hopefully I'll finally get to try a Dowina.

  • Dumb question alert....

I'm in the market for a Silver Sky SE.  What's the likelihood of a decent discount from PRS at the show?

Possibly/probably. I don’t get told what they are bringing or what the show prices are.

They usually do show prices but that’s no guarantee that they will this time.

Are Fair Deal at the show? They have a few SE Silver Skys (Skies?) on their website so that might increase the options.

Normally - They are part of the furniture and some years them and PRS will 'share a stand'

I quite fancy this - especially as there's quite a few good bass exhibitors on that list.

Just to let you know that due to medical complications the Saturday evening Live podcast has had to be cancelled. Gutted, I was really looking forward to it.

@Jason I might have missed the announcement about the show being expanded to cover basses too. Can you provide more info please?

I have a separate bass hall in the show (it's all linked, so once you are in, you have the acoustic hall, bass hall, and electric hall)

I have tried to even out the live stage slots with bass performers too.

There are five retailers in the hall, Vintage Bass Room, GG, Fairdeal, Absolute, and Bass Direct. These sit alongside the brands (big and small). The best bit I think is getting Yolanda Charles to perform on the stage on Sunday.

The full exhibitor list is on the website

Tickets bought for Saturday. Mr Mastercard polished and ready. AirBnB booked.

Jason - as in previous years is there a discount for return attendance on the sunday?

    Cheers,
