Saw them tonight in a very cold Union Chapel; cracking venue but can't they put the heating on? As always, great value and somehow in this cynical world, making it all about the music. Funny and humble, great musicians and songs.

Peter was playing a delightful Candy Apple Red Aerodyne Strat with a colour-coded headstock. Regular readers will know this is right up my street so after the gig I swallowed my little pride to ask him if he wanted to sell it to me. He didn't (it's a rare short-scale and I'm sure that's not the only reason!), but what an absolute gent. End of the tour and random bloke comes up blathering on about guitar, he not only was happy to talk, but grabbed it from the stand and passed it to me to admire. (It was impeccably set up and the fret job was lush.)

So just a big shout out to one of my favourite bands who don't get enough credit, it turns out that not only are they great songwriters, musicians, and producers, but also great people.
