Simply showing temperature change slows rh.

Any recommendations for a humidifier? I’m getting by with a rolled up tea towel on a radiator at the moment but probably need a better solution.

I’m guessing “Poor” will be the response but what are the £30 Amazon ones like? Will be for occasional use in the room where my guitars live.

I took a punt on one of the Amazon ones, it does the job but is a simple on/off tool. Ideally it would automatically operate in specific ranges but that would come at a higher price.

Humidity fell to 35% yesterday! I left the machine running overnight and I’ve just had an alert that it’s hit 65%.
A guitar doesn't care how good you are, all it asks for is it's played.

  • I live in an old damp cottage; even with 3 dehumidifiers running 24/7 it's usually around 60-70%.

I keep all my guitars in hard cases, so may not be too much of an issue.

Wouldn't take long for the cases to be exactly the same as the ambient air surely? If you heated one room a few degrees higher with the dehumidifier going you'd get lower.

  • Changes in humidity would happen much slower inside cases.

The room's radiator is usually off, so less direct heat.
