A ribbon cable connector came loose just after the warranty period ended meaning I had to arse about removing the case and reconnecting it (a bit tricky).
Later on, the USB socket suddenly stopped working after a few years of fairly light use. It was odd in that it still powered the keyboard but would not send midi to my PC.
Might be worth thinking about if you're thinking of one of those. I've not had much luck with Novation gear as my old Nova synth's power supply packed in (apparently quite common) and the specialist nature of the mains transformer and connector meant it was an expensive replacement.
I replaced it with a cheap and cheerful Nektar Impact LX49+. It lacks aftertouch but does the same job for less money.
I might be getting a new controller in the future but am considering the new Yamaha Stage CK61/88 keyboards as an alternative. The built in speakers hopefully will encourage me to start practicing (as opposed to powering up the PC, loading a VST etc.).

Does seem like maybe the best call may be to buy a 61-key synth or stage piano. Their keybeds seem to be better quality than the new controllers, from what I am reading. No idea why that would be
