I enjoyed the show today. Always great to catch up with familiar faces. I did miss my usual drool the ATB stand but sadly they weren't exhibiting this year. A shame they weren't but I'd imagine the people parting with cash for their items prefer to do so behind closed doors

I hope some of you will post pictures from the show. Would love to see all the goodies, guitars that caught your eye, things you tried. We have a big show coming up here in Texas on the first weekend of May and I'm really looking forward to it.

    I went back and tried:

    (1) Gibson SG Special on Guitars4You stand (sorry, no pic) - very lovely but no 'take me I'm yours'.

    (2) Karl Longbottom Kadett - almost went home with me, but not quite.

Bought a Bowie t-shirt and £7-worth of 50p bits from a box on the floor.

Had a good chat with Simon from Vyse Amps.

Also took this photo at the NAH Guitars stand for a friend who takes the Lindsey Buckingham role in a Fleetwood Mac tribute:

no bastard recognised me - apart from Mark!!!

Didn't spend too long there actually as I'd spent my money before even getting there!!!

I really enjoyed it - I was lurking around @guitars4you a fair bit.. that Orion green Silver Sky was winking at me but I resisted the urge. Think I’m putting an order in for a Vyse Deluxe….
This week's procrastination forum might be moved to sometime next week.

More to the point, you wanted me to buy it so that you could come round and play it!

That was a good weekend: went on Saturday, stayed with friends, went out for a nice meal in the evening and for breakfast on Sunday morning and then on to the show, chatted with some folks including @guitars4you, looked at a load of things.
I bought a cheap Hondo II (Korean) Ric bass copy project at the Northampton show a couple of weeks ago and it had a broken machine head and another replacement one on the wrong way 'round; I found two of the correct ones in a £1 tub one one stand; they're now on the bass - result!
I've had another bass project pending for a while, based on a rather scruffy brass pickguard; one of the stands had a matchingly scruffy gold Schaller 3D bridge, so I nabbed that too.
Didn't buy anything more, though there was a nice Washburn guitar on one stand which nearly tempted me (if it had been the bass I would've had it!).

Good show although feeling knackered after playing 'til midnight last night and then 100 miles each way today..  Scary how the PRS SEs are now fetching more than I paid for my Core models (except the ME1!).  Didn't buy anything - mainly down to a lack of space at home :/

It occurred to me that we don't seem to have anywhere to buy PA and studio gear like the old Music Live event - unless anyone knows of anything....??

Enjoyed the day as it was a chance to catch up with old mates but I thought the show didn't seem quite as big as previous years. The UA Enigmatic pedal got me thinking about an easier direct solution than my FM9. The red SG caught my eye. The RD amps sounded great. Wish they could lay on some better food like the Brum show used to do. Didn't bother with any of the live demos as nothing interested me. I think they should put a band on just for the fun of it. Purchases included some Fretboard Batter and a pick made of Vietnamese Water Buffalo bone...

I will pass that on thank you.

I am also redoubling my efforts to sell some things - if I get the rest of the money I need expect a call about that SG !

    First pass completed and I’m pleased to say the smiley sticker worked as @Jonathangus spotted me. As well as @guitars4you I’ve also bumped into @TimmyO and @newi123 ;

Spotted a couple of things to go back and try after I finish my revolting coffee.

Coffee and bacon buttie were both revolting - Can't ever recall a good coffee at any football ground - Outside concession stands are often better, but only open match days - Surely it is easy to get a mediocre coffee at such places and they don't need to be so crap - I'm not the biggest Costa fan, but there was one about 400M away, across a car park

My tea was excellent and free! The pastie from the downstairs bar was awful but filled a gap.

The live demos were good @chickenbonejohn was excellent my favourite of the day, and Connor Thomas a real gentleman and he’ll of a player. The Flatley guys were great too .

Thanks for the sound...so easy to work with you and it sounded great on stage for me. I was amused when one guy came up to me afterwards and asked me what backing track I was using, as he couldn't  figure out how I got it to stop and come in at various points. When I pointed to my foot and said that was my drum machine and I was just using a stomper board he seemed even more confused! I suppose it must have all sounded pretty full and cohesive in the room, so on balance I took it as a compliment! We nearly sold out of stomper boards and sold a few guitars after my spot, so thanks for helping me put the show across.
