NGD limited edition CE 24

What's Hot
KrisGeeKrisGee Frets: 1420
Last week's eBay find, faded grey black nitro finish, slowly showing its nature at the top and bottom of the front. Ebony board, 57/08 humbuckers. Lovely guitar, CE 24 is a great design, I'm a big fan of pattern thin neck.

And a quick yt show off shot last night:

I had one of these a couple of years ago and kind of regret letting it go, as there was nothing wrong with it. A really snappy, versatile and comfortable guitar. Love how that one's ageing!

Nice I've not played one of the new ones. I've got a 1989 CE24 and this looks a better guitar to be honest.
    Do they do CE22s still?

Love the natural wear on that one, congrats! Beautiful guitars, after owning a few PRS models now I think the CE24 is probably the best I've tried. Really have an itch to pick up another CE24 one day.

Happy NGD! Your satin model looks good, I actually prefer the way covered humbuckers look even in a PRS, now curious how more vintage sounding pickups would sound in my CE24! Agreed that the pattern thin is a great neck. PRS understand how to make a really nice resonant guitar which makes it responsive to play. I play through an HX stomp quite a bit and the output level from the 85/15 pickups in mine seems a perfect match for this. That said... it's currently available in the classifieds because I bought a core Mira which I've wanted for ages and is a bit more vintage leaning which is what I prefer.

HNGD - Nice guitar & nice playing too. I liked the track & will check that band out.  :)
I started out with nothing..... but I've still got most of it left (Seasick Steve)

Gosh, this might be the first PRS I've seen where I could imagine myself owning it. I love that colour. It might also be due to the aforementioned nice playing - definitely showing the guitar in a great light  B)

It's a cracker that guitar is. I know I've already said that but that neck is a pure pleasure to hold. It might force me to sell my S2 custom 22 as it's a better guitar in every aspect.

    Thanks for all comments ;)

I absolutely love that. What are the 57/08 pickups like?

I'm not very good in describing pickups but I would say they sound like low output actives to me if that makes any sense ;) Cleans are very crystal but without a shrill top end, overdriven tones are nicely rounded, not very bassy and mids are just past 12 o'clock. The whole thing is whisper quiet, no unwanted hum, hiss or anything else you wouldn't want to hear apart from the guitar itself. My previous CE24 had a set of HFS and VB on board and after acquiring this guitar I had to adjust Kemper's output EQ quite a lot. Interesting thing the HFS and VB coil tapped tones were better than 57/08 ones, humbuckers tones though are top banana.

That’s a spot on description of recent PRS pickups. Curious how they compare to the 58/15 LT.

Ha ha I tried, glad it worked. No idea re 58/15 LT set as I've never had a chance to hear them in real life.
