    There are enough documented cases of someone making a mistake copying a circuit and the result being preferable to the original. The price has more of a determining effect on longevity and reliability (usually). Capacitors especially might sound almost identical for a given spec but the price per unit is a good indicator for which one will still sound right in 10 years time.

    Applicable to tea bags as well as amps. For those into their herbal brews some of the more expensive items are definitely more flavoursome than their cheap counterparts. 
    Old, overweight and badly maintained. Unlike my amps which are just old and overweight.
