Reminds me of an old tv horror thing, maybe the Twilight Zone?, where a woman was seeking revenge on her cheating husband. So she gets this insect that burrows into human flesh and puts it in her old man's ear. He suffers weeks of agony as it chomps its way through his brain, but eventually it emerges out the other side. He's delighted at first when his doctor tells him he's ok, then finds out it was a female.....and it has laid eggs.

Just reading the description made me shudder.
