Anyone there last night? I thought it was really impressive and man did that Tele (and the '52 goldtop) sound good!

Was he using a Dumble? When I saw him at The Jazz Cafe more than 20 yrs ago, he had his Dumble set-up and that Tele - it's a beaut.

Were the sideband folk British/European or American?

Sadly no Dumble! He had a pair of Little Walters. Opening act was British (she's Welsh) but could have passed for American act if you only heard the songs.

I'm actually not sure where his two side men where from.

Yeah I went .   Incredible playing of course but I found the sound a little ‘washed out’ in that venue .
Sounded like too much reverb through the amp combined with the reverb of the room .. I found it hard to hear the details in parts .

Saw him at Ronnie Scott’s lasts year which was much better imo.  No Dumble that time either !

I was directly in the beam of those speakers so it was about as articulate as it gets where we were!

Fantastic Glasgow gig last night at Oran Mor. As to the sound it was the best mix of a guitar based band I have ever heard which made the gig even more outstanding.  I know Oran Mor well and it's not an easy place to mix. I've been to countless gigs and played in all sorts of settings and I have never heard a mix like it.  At the end I went to congratulate the sound guy and he told me that he has been Robben's sound man for the past 20 years.  I don't know his name but I hope he reads this - he is worth his weight in gold.
