While I hate the G-word I felt 'Sounding out interest in a potential Early 90s alt-rock scene typified by a lot of Seattle-based bands that all got put under one label back in the dayfest jam day' wouldn't have such a good ring to it.
I would like to put together a day later in the year for like-minded souls to come and play some of their fave tunes of that era, so late 80s-mid 90s alt rock.
So like a regular Fretboard jam day but with more of a focus on getting to play songs that I think a lot of us have a special place in our heart for.
I'm talking
Soundgarden
Pearl Jam
Alice in Chains
Mother Love Bone
Nirvana
Hole
Smashing Pumpkins
Dinosaur Jr
Mudhoney
Stone Temple Pilots
Screaming Trees
Temple of the Dog
Mad Season
L7
Plus honorary members such as the Pixies, Faith No More and like 2 songs by Weezer and whoever else you can think of from that era.
I'm in Orpington SE London but happy to drive for a couple of hours (as per the usual FB jams I have attended) but locations can sort themselves out once we know if there is enough interest.
I probably have like 50-100 tracks from this era partially learned anyway and about 20 or so that I could play tomorrow.
I play guitar, happy to chug away or play leads/fills stuff and usually sound like the LIDL middle isle version of Mike McCready anyway. I can't really sing but there's the odd tune from this era that suits my voice so at a push could give something a go.
Anyway let me know if there is interest and if you are happy to take on any duties for other things such as bass/drums/vocals/keys etc.
If there's enough interest we can work on a songlist and venue and dates etc.

YOU HAVE MY AXE... AND MY BASS!
Anyone know a middle aged reincarnation of Chris Cornell or Scott Weilland or Layne Staley happy to belt out some tunes?
As it is I usually have a 2hr drive for the regular Fretboard meetups.
If I wasn't in NE Scotland I'd be there.
