WTB: Dreadbox NYX or modular/desktop midi synths with CV

edited May 17 in Studio & Rec £
On the lookout for an (assembled!) Dreadbox NYX. The reissue, definitely the reissue.

Failing that…maaaaybe the Dreadbox Erebus or any other smallish desktop synth with MIDI input and CV patch points? I want something that I can use with my Digitakt in one of their MIDI tracks, but also be paired up with the Make Noise Strega.

I've a (rare) "Plankton Ants!" that isn't getting much use if that sort of thing might interest you? £300 is probably the lowest I'd go, so perhaps more than you're looking to spend (even if interested).
It used to be my favourite, but I now have a Voltage Lab, and the Ants! is getting rather less use these days... Converts (3.5mm TRS) MIDI to CV, has a fantastic filter (which can be driven, and LP or HP), and a very flexible set of functions (inc. 6 Osc: 2 LFO, 2 Osc, and 2 that can be either).
Honestly not as user friendly as Dreadbox synths, and it has a lot of the smaller trimmer pots (although I've added colourful trimmer toppers which make them less small) which can sound scratchy when not used for a while, but it sounds fantastic overall (v. vintage), and packs a lot of functionality into a small desktop package.
    Currently seeking:
Modules/synths: Bugbrand, Hordijk, Lorre Mill Keyed Mosstone, Meng Qi Wing Pinger
FX: EAE Hypersleep, Glou-Glou (not Loupé)

Oooh yes I’ve heard of that. I must confess I’m not totally knowledgeable when it comes to full on semi-modulars like this but the amount of patch points is intriguing and you’ve put it at a good price too. I’ll think about it and do some research.

    Are you anti Behringer?

I kind of am, but some of their stuff like the Grind, Edge, etc are huge value.

Yeah, I’ve been tempted by the Grind as well, and the Edge looks stupid money for what it is, effectively a DFAM clone.

It’s just the space principle as my desk is pretty small. Only got enough room for a Keystep, a Digitakt, and about 3-4 modules depending on their size. I just got a Korg Modwave (which I’ve yet to fully try out tbh) and something like a Dreadbox would provide the more bare bones option, devoid of millions of presets and functions. Might just pull the trigger on the Grind as it’s cheap and can always just sell it on.

I've got a tiny modular set up comprised of a Microbrute and an Edge and it's really fun.

I'm seriously considering a Grind, or Spice (although that's pricier) and maybe a Model15.
