I'd prefer if the BT Hub had a bit more control over wireless security - MAC address security in particular.

    As in access control lists?
You can't even do that with it?
    Wow- really poor.
You also can't turn off (using the router) the BT with fon thing either... so anyone wandering around who also has BT home broadband can borrow your WiFis

So I went down to the Apple store and bought one of the new Airport Extreme routers with 802.11ac.

    OH MY FUCKING GOD!
I'm getting over 100meg download via wifi.

    Really impressive.
I think I'm going to grab another one tomorrow for the studio.

Thanks for all the info, I was looking at the homeplug wotsits but dont want to spend that much initially unless I have to, although those £25 are a bit of a bargain. I tried the sky connector in the player when I connected it up and it worked well enough to load the first episode of breaking bad straight away so I think its quick enough. I'll order a network switch first and see how it goes. Thanks again.
