Which budget IR cab stomp pedals can run on an internal 9v battery?

What's Hot
I have a mini Valeton IR cab pedal but it needs a mains supply, which is a nuisance when I use it with my Vox Tonelabs (too many psu's & wires).

Any suggestions on an inexpensive IR cab stomp pedal that might fit the bill?  (I seem to recall seeing a black & yellow stomp IR Cab pedal that IIRC has a rotary selector & can run on a 9v battery but I can't immediately recall the make).

Sonicake Pocket Master has a rechargeable battery.  You can load IRs on it but does more than that.  Can even load NAM profiles with the firmware update.

That might be a really good shout, thank you, as it has drum patterns & a looper too. For under £50 got to be worth a punt.

The simplest option would seem to be using a battery on a battery clip to barrel plug lead like this ...

I just recently got one, and loving it so far.  Just be warned that currently, the drum patterns on the unit itself are just metronome patterns.  Proper drum beats can be accessed via the mobile app only....for now.  Hopefully a future firmware update will address this.

The whole thing can be controlled via midi now as well, if you want to recall presets with a press of a switch, or turn individual fx modules on/off, or operate the looper etc etc.  The latest firmware update extended the looper length from 10 secs to 20.

Like you said - for £50, why wouldn't you

Mooer Prime M2? It's a tiny multifx but has a great rechargeable battery.

Question is how long would a 9v battery last on the valeton mini IR pedal. If that thing is power hungry a battery may not last very long at all.

I think you're right. My Valeton Coral Cab pulls 200mA so a standard 9v alkaline battery would only last around 1.5-2hrs. The rechargeable battery in the Pocket Master should run for around 4hrs.

Anything with an IR loader is digital so has a much higher current draw than analogue pedals.

If you do find something you'll want rechargeable batteries or you'll be haemorrhaging cash.

An option is something like the Rockboard LT XL rechargeable power unit. They were about £60 and charged up fast. They are pretty old now so I imagine that there is a newer version or other options.

I made up a couple of battery boxes for multiple AA size batteries for longer lasting capacity than a single PP3.

    I made two - one for 6 standard alkaline batteries (6x 1.5V = 9V) shown in the photo above and a second for eight rechargeable AAs with a nominal 1.2V output (8 x 1.2V = 9.6V).

Worked a treat and easily lasted a gig (probably several but I never put that to the test). The battery boxes were a couple of quid on eBay, I just soldered an old 9V power cable (clipped off at one end) onto the two wires from the battery box.
