Bogren Ampknob - Legends of Rock

Anyone else tried these yet? I've just installed the trial and they sound great. I love the Ampknob format of just 1 gain knob, like most of us I can get bogged down in option paralysis and this completely removes it.

I will say I don't love the stock IRs (bit fizzy and modern sounding) but running them through my trusty York Audio MV30a Mix 1 I'm really enjoying it. The plexi in particular sounds and feels great to play and doesn't suffer from weak/strained sounding or feeling at lower gain settings like some other plexi models do. The 800 is my least favourite, it's a bit fizzy/sharp (like a real one can be I guess), really liking the JVM for heavier tones though.

If you like Marshall tones it's worth giving them a shot.

Yup, they are great. I reviewed a load of their plugins a year or so ago. I thought they were very good and easy to use, so win, win!

they feel a little better than other sims, but they still sound thin and fuzzy
and no eq to tweak them

That's the point for me, sounds great out of the box and just need to adjust the gain to suit the pickups. Otherwise I get lost in endless EQ tweaks with some plugins, or comparing different NAM captures. HX Stomp was a complete option paralysis nightmare for me.

I don't love the stock IRs as they do seem a bit fizzy to me, but with the York Audio I have plenty of thickness, usually just go with Mix 1 which is always a 121/57 blend and I'm happy! Will probably end up buying these, may wait for a while to try and get them in a sale.
