Vox V847SP - mod to include power-adapter?

 My V847SP is great (its the 'Silver Plate' version - well, chrome or something) but it's battery only and I'd like to be able to incorporate it into a new pedal board - can it be easily modded with a power-adapter input, & if so what would a tech typically charge to do this? ('fraid I lack skills to do myself).  Or is it just simpler & more economical to sell it & buy a pre-owned mains version?

Or is there an adapter I can get to connect to the battery connector, feed through the pedal base & connect that way - not as tidy but once its in a pedal board I can fix any external wire  down with tape.

Thoughts guys?
