Meanwhile, their actual customer base continues to wait for the much delayed Quad Cortex updates. Kinda bizarre!
It won't be the same people working on vocal stuff as guitar related stuff. I doubt very much that the vocal plugin has affected QC updates at all.
It's also a very smart move as it expands their customer base. At the moment it's metal and rock players and that's about it. Many of those record vocals too, but this also appeals to people who wouldn't go near Neural plugins.
There is a reason why the vocal demo vid is contemporary pop music - to attract new customers. The metal market is completely saturated. If this is successful then the company will grow and then maybe they'll get more people working on QC updates.
At the moment NDSP's growth is pretty much limited to convincing guitarists to buy all the plugins. Just like mobile phone makers discovered - once everybody has one there needs to be a different approach. This is it.

Anyone who has worked with a small team of developers will know firsthand that working on multiple projects will put stress on the available resources and, inevitably, often cause delays.
I totally understand their wish for expansion and further growth but I guess potential new customers might notice how they have been handling current ones.
But I have to say, and no offence to Rabea's mate - I found that singer really annoying.
It was like a Wish version of Devin Townsend that you'd still send back for a refund. *
* I am aware that once I get the plugin and record vocals, this comment is going to bite me on the arse like a steroid laced T-Rex.

And advertising the compressors as "analogue" ... FFS.
I mean, if it gets people in then ... great ... I suppose? But I think 99.9% of it could be done in stock plugins.
But I really need to stress exactly how lazy / uninterested / frustrated I am about learning new plugins - and chaining several together? Nah. I hate that to the point I'd rather not record anything at all. Options piled on options just puts me off. I love writing music but the recording tech side of it feels like work that I'm not getting paid for.
The idea of having a massive load of presets for all elements of a vocal chain that I can flip through to find something good enough for a demo would actually make me record again.
That's the main appeal to me.
If there are any other all-in-one options then I'd happily look at them too.

Like I said, if it gets people into it then I job done really. I think in reality any half decent channel strip and autotuner will do the same, albeit with a less "neural" interface. Waves (try to say it without gagging) have a few decent ones .. shame their pricing is whack. Wait for the weekly sale though and you could find something for $50 with the 2 for 1 deals.
I use to like the ButchVig one (and still use it occasionally) for the exact reasons you say ... limited controls, decent interface, static order. And it was $35 ... as a way to start learning it was useful.
If if you haven't tried it - stick it on a bass track. The saturation is far closer to an old reel to reel tape machine than any modern overdrive. Cut the lows a little and the highs quite a bit and you'll get this amazing old thick, saturated and mid chewy tone that particularly works with power trio type arrangements where the bass needs to stay thick when the guitar solos.
For that Queen live at Wembley, Jack Bruce live with Cream, Geezer Butler P bass thing it is brilliant.
