    Even more surprising when they were told what the fault was - even if it wasn't in any test schedule.

    Just had an e mail back from Baggs. They will source another one for me. No need to return the faulty unit. Pity it had to go through this heartache but hopefully all will be well.

    Apparently it is in the post. Unfortunately, it takes about 10 days from US to here. Hoping for the best?

    How are you powering it? 9v battery or phantom power?

    I would try powering it with the other option to what you usually use to see if there's anything wrong with the power. I had a Yamaha acoustic that crackled and it was corroded battery terminals.

  • The replacement arrived today and it works just fine. It has a slightly different balance to it, Not sure if that's simply because it's newer or whether it will settle in with time.
