Thanks everybody for the wealth of reccomendations and experience you have shared.

I have been to a local guitar shop tried many of the reccomendatoins I could and the Mini GS is the one.

The Koa Mini GS I played just SUNG - seriously incredible. The mahogany was lovely, felt identical in the hand, but that specific koa resonated in such a beautiful way.

I suppose I am now looking for a Koa Mini GS as I can't afford the RRP (or most of the second hand prices to be honest.)

When I get time I will put a WTB post out.
I'm not a McDonalds burger. It is MkJackary, not Mc'Jackary... It's Em Kay Jackary. Mkay?

Good choice! I've had the mahogany, spruce and koa and the koa is the best of the bunch imo.

I'm not sure about exciting wood but this is fantastic value for money solid wood parlour guitar. I don't know how they do it for the money.

I think we do know how they do it for the money in all honesty though. It doesn't devalue the quality of the instrument but it does open the morality can of worms.
Cort manufacture many of the HB models just as they do  for various other brands including Ibanez, Fender, Squier, PRS SE, etc. If we're opening cans of worms for HB then we open them for other brands who often seem to get a "pass."
Nobody gets a 'pass' and nor did I suggest any do. I am also very aware of the dramatic drop in pay and working conditions within the West but we'd be extremely naive to not acknowledge the child labour and environmental violations that enable a lot of these countries to produce much cheaper goods. It also gives the big manufacturers a warped type of deniability by having their products built overseas. This doesn't just apply to guitars but this is a guitar forum so that is the general topic.

the Andertons East Coast range look astonishingly cheap - they have a new video out on them and some others too you might want to look at
Unrelated model/type, but I played a S/H East Coast Goldtop Les Paul today in my local shop - utterly impressive for £100.
