The electronics I think are mostly for the buffered/true bypass options (FET/relay) and voltage inversion+regulation. Actual tone bender is probably in the pink square 

I'm all for wrapping vintage circuits inside modern ones, but it can help to take an unromantic view. And there's nothing romantic about this lol
