Just finished watching. You can tell he's a lot more relaxed in his familiar environment. The interview jumps around quite a bit, but he does talk about his gear more than I was expecting.

I thought he seemed much more relaxed this time around too…… <3

I'm 30 minutes in and I'm going to take a break, but I'm really enjoying it so far (I didn't see Pt.1).

This is what I hoped the first interview had been. It was clear that Rick was told not to bring up too much of Floyd for that one, and it was another tour interview except with a music focus on the new album.

This time around, it's clear he understands and appreciates Beato's musical and gear focus and opens up. I saw someone mention that this is probably the first time Gilmour has publicly played the chords to Dogs since the 1977 tour.

It's up, and it's absolutely wonderful.

Probably the most relaxed I've ever seen DG. Amazing how he remembers all about recording but little about his playing.

  • I saw the announcement for it a little while ago. The previous interview wasn't quite a car crash but it wasn't particularly good so I wonder what conversation has gone on since to allow Rick a second go.
I am not a Pink Floyd fan but I do like David's playing and find him an interesting and likeable person so I shall be putting this on.

I got the impression from the first interview that it was all a bit rushed and that DG was knackered from doing the inevitable round of publicity interviews and answering the same questions dozens of times.
I'll get a round to buying a 'real' guitar one day.

I love his “I don’t really remember what amp/effects we used for x,y or z.” Alongside his clarity in remembering the perfection processes they went through in the studio.

He also reminds me, in the way he speaks, of my long passed grandfather who was pretty much my favourite person on the planet.

I also thought Rick was fishing for some Roger Waters dirt. Thankfully Gilmour didn't bite.

Someone should tell him that he holds the pick properly for single note playing. Found that bit quite odd

Absolutely loved it. Gilmour seemed very comfortable in his own studio and I was amazed he was happy discussing his gear in such nerdy detail - I mean, why wouldn't he, but I just never expected it. Much, much better than the previous interview.

He's seems such a decent chap too. Very happy having watched it.

  • I watched it all in the end. I would have liked more of the messing around with synths that we get at the end, just seemed to be David being a bit more animated.
Relatively hard going for those of us who aren’t Floyd fans as I don’t always know the references but overall David had some interesting things to say and there were a few insights.
