Putting your guitars in the hands of parcelforce is like getting Jimmy saville to do your babysitting.

I use fedex via overland express, who insure musical instruments

Yeah, you would come home to find out he had been rummaging through your drawers trying on all your shiny shell suits.

I wish I'd read this thread when it was first created :-(

Last week I managed the impossible, i.e. to get RichTone to agree to ship a 2nd hand valve amp.  The very pinnacle of human endeavour I'm sure you'll agree, and I was rightly proud of myself.

Parcelforce, with whom I've had zero issues with during many dealings over the years, collected it as planned on Friday on their Express 24 service, guaranteed next day delivery.

No sign of it Monday, yesterday, or today, and the tracking website went stone cold from the moment it was collected.

After over an hour on hold waiting to be connected I finally got through to a very helpful gentlemen at PF just now who confirmed the parcel was, predictably, still sat at the Sheffield depot.  He sent an internal message requesting that it be on its way immediately so God only knows when it will eventually turn up, but my money is on a full week after it was supposed to arrive.

The call handler had no idea why it was still there but was very apologetic and did, kindly, suggest I make a claim for reimbursement of the fee due to the delay, and he seemed to think this would be a formality.

As I say, I've never had a single problem with PF before now so am disappointed in the total lack of communication more than anything which, as others have already said, appears to be a byproduct of consolidating the Royal Mail & PF systems.

didn't want to make a new postal-moan thread when this one's still fresh. i currently have a parcel in USPS limbo. tracking says it's in Heathrow but no update since 16th Sep. googling/redditting around seems to say that means it could actually be anywhere, just that someone put it on a plane out of US i think?  things used to take a couple of days to clear customs. it's not a remotely high value package.
