Sounds great. After the recent negative press on the last Boss pedal, makes you wonder if this ‘leak’ was intentional…

I have a very similar looking guitar to the sky blue one in the video, was quite disorienting to see it in a strange sort of way - though i suspect it's probably something much more fancy than my Vintage brand one

What does it do that the EHX Pitch Fork doesn't?

    Be reliable.
I watched the first half of the Andertons video this morning and this was hinted at.

    It's such a brilliant interface.

Two knobs, two switches and everything you could possibly want.
Easy enough you don't need a manual.
Yes the XS-1 looks really straightforward, plug in an expression pedal or extra switch to do more stuff if you want.

Not really any idea what I would do with one but if I did I think they've nailed this.

Looks great but it's a shame it's either semitones or octave and there isn't the option for both. I love that my HX One can combine them so I can have -2 semitones to +22 for playing Gojira in standard tuning.

Be interesting to try one and see how the feel is in comparison

It looks like you can with the XS-100, if I've read this review correctly. You can have 4 simultaneous functions, so you could set the pitch shift value, and also the travel value of the treadle.

Looking at the display on the pedal, it's set to 2 semitones down, with the treadle set to 2 octaves up.

XS-1 demo out in the wild. The tracking sounds really good.
The layout is so simple too.

Sod pitch shifting I want a Les Paul Classic and a Soldano
    Red ones are better.

There's an effect parameter for dry blend

    The algorithm sounds really nice

Digitech really dropped the ball on this, or rather Samsung confiscated it for half a decade

For me it would be the capo pedal.

I always used to do a few songs where the singer would want to do them in Eb for example because it's a bit high and this would make it easier or where you have a fight because the keys and brass want to do superstition in Eb, but the guitar and bass want to do it in E.

I got into the habit of running my whammy into a germanium boost stage to soften the high end - it works really well

100% this. The power to cleanly down tune without thinking is huge.

I’ve done it with a Ricochet for a couple of songs but this seems to sound cleaner and can do any interval

  • I’ve just fallen for the marketing avalanche and ordered one from Andertons. Where would you put it in the chain? I’m assuming before dirt/drive pedals for the best tracking?

This looks pretty tempting to avoid messing with capos during a set.  E.G.

I (badly) try and cover more than one part whilst playing ’Hotel California’ by starting with the 12 string part with a capo on the 7th fret then ripping it off after the first verse and continuing in standard tuning. This would solve that quite nicely and I wouldn’t have to then search around for where I dropped the capo after the gig in the dark!

Its either that or the dreaded double neck guitar!

or I guess not playing Hotel California at all. Which thinking about it, is probably the preferred option for all involved…

Yeah, pitch works best at the start of the chain (after the tuner, obvs) for me.

The mighty Whammy V might be leaving my board...
Having a Whammy AND a pitchshifter in the same footprint makes the XS-100 a winner.

The Whammy will always look cool AF though so wonder if Digitech will come back fighting with the rumoured Whammy VI?

Not essential by any means but I'd put it after a compressor so that it gets a clean, uniform signal.

See I’m the opposite. I always thought the Whammy was a great big ugly toy-looking thing.
