    UK and Europe dates added!
one of my mate's dad is a HUGE Rush fan. Spent around £4k to go and see them in Toronto later this year (show tickets were £700 a pop on their own) and now they've announced UK dates.

Needless to say, he's fuming haha. Although seeing them IN Canada will be a special experience.
First time I saw Rush was in Toronto, but they didn't tour Europe for quite a while, so a worthy trip, and Canada is an amazing place to visit.
oh for sure. Tickets will sell out quick for the UK shows I'm sure - so at least he knows he has one for Toronto and as you say, Canada is a great place to visit.

I was lucky enough to see them at The Gorge in the early 2000's and they were incredible. Will keep that memory rather than bankrupt myself trying to go again :D

Well, it cost me £5.00 to see them for the first at Bingley Hall in 1981 so, using an inflation calculator, tickets should be £19.45 this time around (maybe a bit less since there's just the two of them now).

I'm in two minds.  If money was no object then of course I'd go see them.

But, I've seen them a bunch of times before when they were in much better shape than they are now.

Tickets are going to be mega bucks, and it won't just be tickets - if I go then Mrs Haych will go, just because, it will involve travel, probably a hotel and then food and drink on top, not to mention merch.

I reckon all that would probably pay for a decent package holiday with the price of a pair of tickets thrown in.

And I hate to say this, but I just don't have the confidence they're going to be worth it.  Geddy's voice was struggling the last time round and was an indistinct mess through a lot of songs.  Alex is looking really old now and I just can't see him being on form like he once was.

Without Neil and with extra bods on stage, it isn't really the same Rush I grew up with and came to love.  I'd love to say it's going to be a hoot but I'm really afraid they're going to screw the pooch.

I'm much the same. Never managed to catch them, fan since forever.

But Geddy's voice (much like Ian Anderson) has been absolutely awful for years. Why they don't drop a key or two for the old stuff, I don't know.

I'm unlikely to see them because, frankly, I think I'd be cringing a lot.
Some stuff I made, for fun.  https://banditos1.bandcamp.com/

My thoughts exactly. Geddy's voice was just about hanging on during their last tour 10 years ago. Alex and Geddy are best mates and this is the perfect outlet for them to let loose and enjoy themselves.

Part of me think that this isn't Rush without Neil and with an extra keyboard player on stage, but then I probably just need to get over that this naming the project Rush makes the most sense.

I have high hopes the Anna and hope that she puts her own spin on things.

The only time I ever saw them live was on the Hold Your Fire tour so I'd welcome the chance to see them now, unless the ticket prices are completely insane.

Someone posted the Denmark ticket pricing on Reddit, it's actually far more reasonable than the North American prices (top tickets are around €140 and you can add on custom VIP packages of varying tiers if you really wanna go crazy).

Perhaps with the second shows and additional dates they added for the 2026 run not even close to sold out in most cases they were being more risk-averse and pricing a little smarter. Of course the UK could be its own clown show in that department, but we can hope.

The PR confirmed they are adding a keyboard player to the live band as well (which I think we expected). https://ultimateclassicrock.com/rush-keyboardist-loren-gold/#:~:text=Loren%20Gold%20has%20been%20confirmed,South%20America%2C%20U.K.%20and%20Europe.

Changing the subject completely, did anyone buy the 40th anniversary editions of Signals or Grace Under Pressure?

They only seem to be available as "LP + CD + book + poster + flag + onesie + whatever" editions costing about 300 quid.  The previous anniversary releases gave a choice of CD or LP (or probably both if you really wanted).  Have these things got completely out of hand?

So the pre sale (code required) starts tomorrow (24th) with public sale from the 27th.

I want to see them but I'm hoping the ticket prices aren't Oasis levels of stupid

If they're reasonable then I'll probably try and get a couple of tickets for Manchester and see who wants to join me

If anyone needs the pre sale code PM me

£350 per ticket for the London O2 if you want to sit near the front.

No, wait, £525, the £350 per ticket are a bit further back.

    I'm out.

I was, and it worked, although it disappeared tickets from my basket a couple of times (thanks again by the way!)

  • I've seen tickets for £125 minimum so far...   still too rich for me...  I honestly think they've likely out-priced their next generation of fans too..

I do take issue with these big production affairs, the punter having to foot the bill... Mrs B&T summed it up when she considered the latest Take That tour...  "I don't care about trapeze artists and all that, I just wanna see the fellas singing; so stop making me pay for it!"
    My trading feedback

is it crazy how saying sentences backwards creates backwards sentences saying how crazy it is?

It's all a bit bollocks really.  Concerts by the rich, for the rich.  And yes, a good way to alienate your fans.

For two mid priced tickets plus travel, hotel and other expenses it would cost over £1000 for a few hours of entertainment and I'd likely still be stuck behind the neanderthal for the entire show.  Mrs Haych is only 4' 14 so she wouldn't see much of anything.

Arena shows are shit anyway.  Too many people, the sound is bollocks, the view is crap and everything from the entry price to food and drink is overpriced.

Better hope the show is phenomenal (and I have serious doubts about that) for the price they're expecting everyone to pay.
