I was lucky enough to see them at The Gorge in the early 2000's and they were incredible. Will keep that memory rather than bankrupt myself trying to go again
But, I've seen them a bunch of times before when they were in much better shape than they are now.
Tickets are going to be mega bucks, and it won't just be tickets - if I go then Mrs Haych will go, just because, it will involve travel, probably a hotel and then food and drink on top, not to mention merch.
I reckon all that would probably pay for a decent package holiday with the price of a pair of tickets thrown in.
And I hate to say this, but I just don't have the confidence they're going to be worth it. Geddy's voice was struggling the last time round and was an indistinct mess through a lot of songs. Alex is looking really old now and I just can't see him being on form like he once was.
Without Neil and with extra bods on stage, it isn't really the same Rush I grew up with and came to love. I'd love to say it's going to be a hoot but I'm really afraid they're going to screw the pooch.

But Geddy's voice (much like Ian Anderson) has been absolutely awful for years. Why they don't drop a key or two for the old stuff, I don't know.
I'm unlikely to see them because, frankly, I think I'd be cringing a lot.
My thoughts exactly. Geddy's voice was just about hanging on during their last tour 10 years ago. Alex and Geddy are best mates and this is the perfect outlet for them to let loose and enjoy themselves.
Part of me think that this isn't Rush without Neil and with an extra keyboard player on stage, but then I probably just need to get over that this naming the project Rush makes the most sense.
I have high hopes the Anna and hope that she puts her own spin on things.
Perhaps with the second shows and additional dates they added for the 2026 run not even close to sold out in most cases they were being more risk-averse and pricing a little smarter. Of course the UK could be its own clown show in that department, but we can hope.
The PR confirmed they are adding a keyboard player to the live band as well (which I think we expected). https://ultimateclassicrock.com/rush-keyboardist-loren-gold/#:~:text=Loren%20Gold%20has%20been%20confirmed,South%20America%2C%20U.K.%20and%20Europe.
They only seem to be available as "LP + CD + book + poster + flag + onesie + whatever" editions costing about 300 quid. The previous anniversary releases gave a choice of CD or LP (or probably both if you really wanted). Have these things got completely out of hand?
I first saw Marillion (yeah, they ain't nearly as big) in '81 for £1.25. I miss those days of cheap tickets ....
No, wait, £525, the £350 per ticket are a bit further back.
I'm out.

is it crazy how saying sentences backwards creates backwards sentences saying how crazy it is?
For two mid priced tickets plus travel, hotel and other expenses it would cost over £1000 for a few hours of entertainment and I'd likely still be stuck behind the neanderthal for the entire show. Mrs Haych is only 4' 14 so she wouldn't see much of anything.
Arena shows are shit anyway. Too many people, the sound is bollocks, the view is crap and everything from the entry price to food and drink is overpriced.
Better hope the show is phenomenal (and I have serious doubts about that) for the price they're expecting everyone to pay.
