I was also just "musing" as to whether there would be any posts about a new Thorpy collab Rather Large Dark fuzz type pedal too... I didn't want to name it in case i let something Unintended out the bag and cause some hysteria
I'm scared and I'm waiting for life

If I remember correctly from one of the two long-form interviews on his YT channel, Thorpy talked about a few amp-recreation-style projects in the works. I assume this is one of them.

@Gassage I know you're jesting but a serious question - does anyone actually know any Lazy J owners who have had any issue at all? I certainly don't.

Think I've had three of them and they've all been wonderful, trouble-free amps.

I do hope that Rift Amps offer a correction service on the pedal- just in case.

You can never be too careful.
All the more pointed Mr. Gassage as I'm sure you know Thorpy and Rift are on the same business site...

I was hoping it would be for something that paired with a Lazyj and not just emulated one…. :s

The power tubes on my J10LC died twice within 4 months of usage. So exactly the problem with the OT that @RiftAmps is describing in his video. I don‘t know if this is still a common problem and I sold the amp to get a Bartel. I think the main problem ist the OT is basically too small but Jesse can‘t get it to sound like he want‘s with a different OT. But to be fair I also cranked the amp regularly with my Ox. Overall I think build quality of a LazyJ is not good enough given the price.

A J35/40 in a box would be amazing. As much as I love my Bartel, I miss being able to switch between all the different voicings. I tend to use my original 66 Blackface Vibrolux more often and a LazyJ in a Box would add a nice second Tweed channel to my Blackface.

Please don't let me dampen your enthusiasm. I'm sure he's got something interesting up his sleeve. Here are the (vague) words from the man himself, and he specifically said no "emulations".

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qZztEX25dpQ

Admittedly he just generally mentioned working on providing pedal formats of a few different amp types. There is no specific info to say what may or may not be released. A bit later he specifically mentions a collab to be released in Oct/Nov, and just how challenging it was.

Also cool, a pedal may be coming called "Fuzz Remains", which will be a BYO kit. He's also working on a unique noise gate.

I've not yet watched the second interview. The first was a nice chat to listen to.

EDIT - the timestamped links did not come through in the previous links. Added below:

    Amp projects - 30.40
    Fuzz Remains - 48.26
    Noise Gate - 1:00.46

What has Rift got to do with it? I’ve missed something clearly. Do they subcontract for Lazy J or somesuch?
