Brigitte Bardot

What's Hot

Surprised that she hasn't been mentioned here as she passed away on Dec 28th 2025.

Total sex kitten indeed ... those early days movies and lifestyle she portrayed were mind-blowing to young chaps of a certain age :astonished:

I think she lived a full and interesting life with all of her welfare driven projects ... it'll be interesting to see if the love for her is still as prevalent during her imminent funeral service.

Dormez bien petit chou

I had a framed arty poster of her on my wall in my student days. Absolutely beautiful in her prime and a real trailblazer in changing how actresses were portrayed.

    Sad news . . . What a beautiful lady . . . . RIP Brigitte
Id just like to point out that, despite all the video and DNA evidence, it genuinely wasn't me, your Honour  !

Yes sadly a legacy tarnished by some pretty nasty stuff in her later years

Her film and music career was relatively short and all a bit before my time so I'm not really familiar with any of it. Yet I know her name and her image. For the last fifty years famous for being famous I guess. It's a bit like James Dean or Marilyn Monroe or Kurt Cobain if they'd just stopped doing the stuff they were famous for instead of dropping dead. An image frozen in time yet she was still around.
Plus points for the animal welfare work. Minus points for Islamaphobia and being a terrible mother.
Aged 91, several marriages, fame - a full life I guess. RIP.

Yep ... all points noted about the nasty stuff ... I was hoping that we'd just relive those beautiful memories of youth. I will anyway.

That, and Henri-Georges Clouzot's La Vérité.  I'm sure she made some other great films as well, but those are the two I particularly know.

I was completely unaware of her extreme racist views until I saw the obituaries last week.  I now find it very hard to just ignore that.

Shame about her ardent support for the very right wing National Front (now the National Rally) and its founnder Jean-Marie LePen. She was convicted five times for inciting racial hatred. As Le Monde put it "Bardot, the political figure, embodied racial hatred." She was cute though...

One of those situations where both of the above statements are true.

Most of her 'glory days' were before my time - But she sure had the looks - Maybe not the style/sophistication of Ingrid Bergman or Audrey Hepburn - But she had more than just that 'page 3' looks - Yet it sounds wrong and sexists that I'm talking about her looks and not her other attributes - But she certainly helped to create an image of bikinis and curves that was deemed barely acceptable back in the day - RIP

Here with Claudia Cardinale probably illustrates the best bit of cinema from that era.

Final proof, if it should be needed, that beauty can sometimes be only skin deep.
