Never heard of these either until now.  Now you have me wanting one or more correctly trying to justify getting one 'just in case' I should ever need it.

Speaking of cordless tools, the batteries do not last forever.  Both batteries of my SDS cordless drill are quite dead.  After Christmas I need to get a pair to replace these duds.........
