New bass Marcus miller p7

I want to start learning bass guitar so I have  picked  the Marcus miller p7 ,  seems like people like it and for the price looks good , my friend said  that the Marcus miller p7 new gen is out this year, But at the moment  they are not in stock and don't give dates , the new model will have some upgrades over the old , should I wait ? because I am thinking if I get the new model great ,  but even if I got the 2nd gen  it might come down when they start  stocking  the new gen .

With a new model, nobody knows really.

but as always with a guitar, if you like the one you try don’t let the shop get you a “fresh” one in a box from out back. Buy the one you like even if it needs new strings and a clean.
