The Reminder is an amazingly powerful but oddball multi effects unit/looper. If anyone’s familiar with The Godfather fx unit, you’ll know they’ve used some of the concepts/features from The Reminder. 

It’s not easy to explain how it functions but it’s very intuitive to use. The controls are fantastic and the build is superb. With quad outputs for processing different aspects of the delays and reverb (all can be output in stereo only if desired - as by default) It’s also got filters that can separately process different layers of the delays (Main Delay and the separate DPD (Double Pulse Delay).

You can shift the positioning of the 2 delays against one another and add offsets. Some of these changes can be  destructive to the loop but can also radically change it.

The unit also functions as a looper of sorts. It’s the way i’ve been mainly using it to create really unique fx, rhythmic atmosphere and loops. I’ve used it a lot for making Dub Techno tracks and IDM, Glitch.

There are a number of ways to punch in short overdub bursts. In combination with the filters this can create really interesting loops that can sound rhythmically different depending on the separate filter settings and modulation via the lfo. Overdubbing wildly different types of sounds also creates really unexpected results.

It’s an absolutely fascinating machine, but it’s also not a normal type of delay unit. 

It has midi and it can input sound via USB.

A couple things to note: It is powered by USB and can be noisy if powering it via a computer. You can use an iPhone plug or similar and it works perfectly.

The operating system can be a bit weird at times. I owned one of these previously and it had the same quirks. These units never crashed and all functions work but on occasion the screen won’t show incorrect information.

Overall this is an incredibly unique, quirky, fun and powerful unit that can be used for straight up dance music or for weird and deep experimentation.

It’s also quite a rare and hard to find unit.

I won’t be sorry if it doesn’t sell, but It can be all consuming for me at times and a major distraction and that’s why it’s up for sale.
