I have not seen it mentioned here but the new v6.0/Gen 2 firmware, besides updating the amp profiles and adding new effects, now allows the MG30 to import NAM files.
A few users on the Nux Facebook report glitches, but the general verdict seems very favourable.
As others have noted, the NAM technology sounds really good, and is effectively free. I wonder how it is going to affect the development of future generations of such multifx units? Will manufacturers give up on attempting to model amps, and concentrate on modelling effects, and combine the latter with ir and nam loaders?

The Valeton and Sonicake devices only support full NAM rigs, meaning you HAVE to download NAM profiles that contain both amp head + cab. Bit of a bummer because you can't take advantage of amp head-only NAM profiles out there.
Edit: On reflection I think there has been talk about using irs with nam profiles, which suggests amp head only nam captures can be used?
Will confirm when I get some feedback, or update my own unit.
Agreed on that, it would be nice for the Valetons to have a slot for a NAM head and a slot for an IR, but I suspect they just don't have the DSP to deal with it all at once. The only choice there is to add an additional IR with another pedal if you're just using a NAM head. But honestly, the GP-5 is £79 and what you get is just crazy value.
1) The MG 30 does use a conversion process with NAM files.
2) You are not limited to combined amp and speaker NAM profiles. It is possible to use any combination of amp, speaker and effect profiles along with irs if needed.
There is now an update, v6.1.0.1, which has has appeared in the past day or two, though the lag in changing patches is apparently still there.
