I sent the Tone Master Bassman back guys.  It was awesome but it's too much amp for current band.   I just don't need 4x10's.

In other news I've ordered a second hand Princeton Tone Master.  I want something for home use.  Will report back when I get it.

I really have to find time and a shop that has both the Bassman and Super Reverb available to try next to each other.

@fretmeister not tried the super. Any good?

The TM Princeton has arrived. Had a quick shot at lunch. First thoughts are lovely clean sound and it’s a brilliant amp for home use. The volume is usable
across more of the power scale settings at home.

Had the Tone Master Princeton for a few days now.   For home use I quite like the stock Jensen C10R speaker lol.  It's only 93db so it keeps the volume down and can push the amp a little more.    The clean sound is beautiful and using it without pedals with a Tele.

I've also tried it with a Celestion G10 Vintage 10". That's a 99db speaker and very loud at home.    Think that would make it useful for smaller gigs.   It tightens up the bass, adds a ton of high mids and rolls off the highs.

But for home I'm gonna stick with the Jensen for now because of the volume..

Worth noting if you want amp breakup without pedals with single coils this is still a really loud amp with the Jensen.  Like the Deluxe I don't find the lowest attenuation (0.3w) setting that nice sounding.  So the next attenuation setting up is 0.75w.  Cranking the gain up on the amp you can still be hitting  90db in the room with your guitar volume on 10.

I've got the amp gain on 8 and vary my guitar vol depending on what I'm playing. It's a cracking clean tone with a bit of hair.  Hitting about 80-84db...  If you need to be quieter you need drive pedals.

The Reverb is really nice.  The tremolo is a bit weak tho, can only hear it if you jack it right up....

That’s my experience with them too. I don’t actually like them - they’re too much, like a V30 only more so. All aggressive high mids and no subtlety.

Yeah the g10 vintage has a totally different vibe to the Jensen.

Thought the g10 was instant Jim Campilongo cleans. Liked the eq. Just too loud for the house lol. Guthrie Trapp also has one in his Princeton.  It’s right up my street.

The wgs veteran 10 looks to have a similar vibe to the g10 but without the volume. It’s  95 db.

Looking up online the Jensen 10r-f has a lower db rating (92 db). That could be even better for home use.

I've tried the regular p10r and the p10r-F in my 64 HW. The F sounds a bit mmmmph in comparison. Best speaker I've tried for blackface tone is the Jupiter 10sc. Tames the wild low end and boxiness.

What don’t you like about the 10r-f?

    Never tried a Jupiter…

Having played both now I’d say they are almost opposites - shades of crunch that cleans up vs loud clean
    Red ones are better.

    Noted!

I keep trying to make the maths work, and then I save up a few quid and end up buying a pedal!

Has anyone conspired the Blonde Twin with the Super Reverb?

No sparkle, sounded flat and dull compared to the regular p10r. That may well suit some folk as the PR is ofter accused of being ice picky at volume, but there are better amps for louds.

Makes sense. The Jensen C10R sounds great at home to me, don't think I'd want to gig it tho.  Can see how it might be too bright up loud.

I've had a ragin Cajun 10" in my TMPR and it's brilliant. Done about 20 gigs on it at 3w or 5w, amp at 6, king of tone in front, easy.

    Sounds great.

Been following this thread with interest as I’ve considered changing the speaker in my TMPR. Now waiting on delivery of a Celestion G10 Vintage. Are there any pitfalls I should be aware of or is it truly as simple as it looks? I change pickups like underwear but have made it to 43 without ever swapping a speaker…

@ChrisCox1994 nice speaker. It’s super loud isn’t it? Does it roll off any high end?

@JodyJames keen to know how you find the g10.

@JodyJames when you pull the old speaker out you might find the speaker is stuck to the baffle board. I used a screwdriver to wedge gently under the speaker to release it. The soaker connections are slip on ones rather than solder types.
