    The A string has popped out of the slot, which might indicate the groove is too shallow (or the nut isn’t tall enough), or too narrow so the string isn’t sitting down in it properly, or has a chipped edge.

    The real question is why someone would photograph it like that and not notice.

    You can also see that the headstock is misaligned relative to the neck - or the machinehead holes are drilled in the wrong places - all the strings are angled over towards the treble side. So much for the quality of 70s Japanese copies .
