I think writing lyrics to music is a lot easier personally than writing music to lyrics. I find if i have the lettuce and need the music, i have to rework the lyrics so often to help the flow, writing lyrics without any idea of how the tune or rhythm will go is hard to me. And usually ends up with me writing a very rigid metre of poetry rather than what would actually work.

But I do both at various times, or sometimes the words and tune come at the same time for certain phrases
I have no mouth, and I must scream

I struggle with lyrics. Recently tried the following:

1 think of a poet, or google contemporary poets,
2 think of a subject, love, politics, science, whatever
3 ask an AI to write a 3 stanza poem in the style of the poet, on the chosen subject, but force the AI to exclude the most "obvious" words.

Kinda works, you can chop and change to suit, or just try again.

I haven't used AI for lyrics, but do resort to RhymeZone for a word or two occasionally.

Having said that, if it wasn't for Garageband (later Logic) Drummer I'd never have recorded anything. The recent addition of the other 'session players' has also been useful, though quite frustrating as adjusting the controls even slightly can make quite a difference, but sometimes they refuse to do the simplest thing, probably like real musicians I suppose!

I've found AI to be very bad at lyrics other than suggesting rhymes and simple things like that.
