    Must Like Antigua.

I do, now, but it took a few years. Plenty won't.
Ten years too late and still getting it wrong

These mustangs are brilliant. I gig one (in blue) all the time over way more expensice basses, and shortscales with flats are perfect

Ideal for making an Alan Lancaster Tribute model.

I really want a Mustang Bass, but as much as I try to love Antigua finishes I just don't...

I only paid £220 for my blue one with a case and Labelle flats. They are great basses

After I broke my left arm a few years ago, I couldn't play my Rick 4001 properly for a while so I borrowed a friend's '72 Mustang Bass. I might have liked to buy it off him but it's a bit more than I'd really want to spend now! Not that it's not worth it, it's a great little bass - just a lot of money.

Looks a  very nice bass :+1:
I went to see the Damned the other night’ and Paul Grey was playing one’ who’s normally a ric player’ but I read, that due to a recent bike injury’ and like yourself, the ric was too much’ so for now his opted for a mustang. But his sound was incredible’ obviously lots of magic boxes were involved’ but close your eyes’ it was very much his Ricky tone.

They do sound surprisingly similar! Quite a few of the bassists of the early 70s who used 4001s as their main bass also had Mustangs.

So’ the guitar turned up yesterday’ but I’ve not had a chance to give it a proper go as yet’  but I must say’ it plays great straight out of the box’  and the fit and finish is superb.

    Happy!

I am old enough to remember the original Antigua Fenders. The dark paint was more of a grey/brown mushroom soup colour. The re-issues are too dark.

Squier should re-issue the Batz Maru model.
