Levi Perry's Gavilan Guitars

As a big fan of Castedosa and also of Levi's work in the Fender custom shop, good to see he's "doing a Carlos" and making his own guitars away from the big F. 
The first model looks like his take on a Jazzmaster. Coda are listed as a dealer so I'm looking forward to trying these (and yes, they'll be expensive, if cheaper than the masterbuilt stuff)

I see a bit of Swope in that design as well as a lot of Fender, obviously. (An observation, not a dig.)

From what you said when I asked about the reputations of the current CS guys, I guess he'll do alright. Must be massively helpful to have that list of dealers on board before you're even properly up and running.

Wonder how many he's anticipating building initially. Do you know roughly what Castedosa's annual production is?

My El Halcon is number 512 from April 26. Carlos started in 2022 so he’s building 120-130 a year from that. 

My guess is these guys can make less, pay more attention to the builds and make more money than by being a masterbuilder (whilst taking the risk of not doing a “John Cruz” of course)

That's good going. I expect it helps that they don't do custom orders.

I always assume the pricing on these is based on the fact his name attracted £8k when he was at Fender so that’s the price point now.

I really like the look of Dunable guitars and they sit around £4k small team but that always feels like a risk having no ability to try before buying.

Having played and owned a couple of Perrys, one thing you can guarantee is that these will be absolutely bloody wonderful.

I believe the Coda one is no longer available as a certain Doug took it home. It’s seriously high praise if Doug buys a guitar, given he gets to try all sorts of high end gear.

Absolutely chuffed to be making the bridges for these! We're doing another little Collab with Levi too, more details coming soon.

I think the blue/green from Andertons has sold, but the white might still be available? I think it looks great in white, it brings out more of the NR Firebird design cues.

Maybe it was the particular rig and who can tell from a YT video, but the white sounded a little more like what I go for in a guitar.

I hope it doesn't sell before I get a chance to see it!
