    Well the Ts&Cs say:

These terms ONLY apply to the  EU, I can not accept any returns from non EU countries due to customs issues..

If the buyer is outside the EU then the buyer must organise the collection and the insurance for the guitar..

which suggests not UK, or not updated in many years...

I think he was in France, I bought a guitar from him once.  No idea where he is now.

I am actually favouring my ‘not updated in many years’ option…

I think I bought a guitar from him in 2008(ish) and I’m sure it came from the south coast somewhere.

You can see his car in some of the product shots and it has French plates.

I'm pretty sure that at some point I worked out he was somewhere in Occitanie, but I can't remember how!

There's an Occitaine in Nottingham. I think it's a chain. Not for one second saying Japanguitars uses provencal lavender perfumes as a front for their guitar business, but its possible

Any idea what the rationale is for making potential customers ask for the price of some of the guitars? Also, advertise guitars that are not for sale?

I've never heard of this website or seller before now, which is surprising as the website looks like it was created in the last century so has been around a while.

Sales tactic from the olden days. The assumption is only people who are really actually genuinely interested will make contact about them, and then you have them on the hook so you have a shot at justifying the price you are asking, which is way too high.

As for advertising guitars which weren't for sale, the site was a showcase for his collection, as well as being his shop.
