The powerlines have floaters so the airplanes won't get snagged...
I think you should do the proper thing and now use it to record a song about the saga.
Needs to be something subtle, avoids any actual slander against the people involved, but also remembering that a "mere insult" is not actionable. So something witty and maybe a bit ambivalent. Title could be "Watch out for these cunts!"

A funny story from my hometown in italy. Guys' prized Les Paul (and these are all guys in their early 20s, a Les Paul was serious cash and not easily acquired) goes missing at the local rehearsal room. The band was dismantling their gear after a session, turned around a second and it disappears. The studio had an employee - singer and guitarist from another local band. He really tries to help. He looks around. Then says he saw a guy who looked like a north african immigrant milling around. Then says his cousin is a cop and he's told him that they recovered a stolen guitar just that day. Then says no, scratch it, it's a violin, different case. The "attempts to help" continue getting more contradictory and unrealistic, and the guy just keeps digging his own grave. In the end he breaks down and leaves a number of overly long whatsapp voice notes, apologising, giving all the reasons why he did that, and begging the victim not to turn him in to the police, then returns the guitar.
The town's stupidest pop-punk band, friends of the victim, writes an excellent song called "remorseful kleptomaniac" about this - the thief doesn't get turned in to the police, but does get turned into the laughing stock of the city's music scene.
