    This forum makes me sick.

I'm close to cancelling my membership and flouncing.

Not a single mention for a Boss Metalzone?

All heathens every single of one of you.

If I flounced, who would join a thread like this and sing the praises of the Metalzone?  No one I guess, so I have to stick around and keep on preaching the gospel.

Digitech Death Metal. I keep trying alternative distortion pedals and none have quite the right thump, in the right frequencies, compared to the Death Metal. (Though the Boss MT-2W with the custom voicing on gets pretty close.) I currently have three and god help me, would be perfectly happy to acquire a few more "just in case".

    A few

EP Boost - partly because it’s so old and tatty it wouldn’t fetch much (it’s so old it’s the version where the DIP switches do something different to what the internet tells you they do) and partly because it’s just an ace no nonsense boost.

Lightspeed - the ‘Fonzie’ pedal - you just turn it on set any way and it’s just “ayyyyyyyy :) “

Retroman Beano - predates the Analogman one before anyone criticises its name - great treble boost and would cost a fortune these days (bought over 20y ago)
    Red ones are better.

Given how long I've had it, my Fulldrive 2 must qualify as a keeper - and I've had my King of Tone for nearly as long, and it's still on my board most days.

Would it help if I mention that I have two MT-2Ws alongside the three Death Metals?

My two EHX Tone Tattoos.  Memory Toy, Neo Clone and Metal Muff all in a single enclosure.  It was discontinued in 2024 so I’m keeping both of them.

I do like the Metal Zone, although I don't currently have one so it doesn't qualify for this thread.

It sounds especially good with a magnetic soundhole pickup in an acoustic guitar - preferably 12-string - through a big Fender amp.

(For those unfamiliar, no that is not a joke :).)

    Origin Effects Revivaldrive for me.

It's been on my main board since I bought it in 2018. I've used it for most gigs and recordings I've done since then both through various amps and through a speaker IR direct to mixing desk. It's very versatile so able to work with anything.

What? Hiss and clock noise? ;)
Mine does neither of those things (but it does have a little high end tone suck)

Good shout though - lovely pedal.

The JHS Emperor II is a re-do of it with proper bypass and an added tap tempo switch

If we’re allowed 2 pedals to never sell, the RD would be my second. In fact I have 2 plus a Compact!

Purely for sentimental reasons my vox wah as my dad bought it for me when I first started playing.

Apart from that my blues driver. When i ditched the helix and went back to pedals. I made a point of acquiring as many old boss pedals as I could. Ph1r, ce2 etc. Trying to keep it simple atm.
I would love to change my username, but I fully understand the T&C's (it was an old band nickname). So please feel free to call me Dave.

Even though it hasn’t been on my main board for a while, the DryBell Unit 67 is just brilliant. It doesn’t have the instant wow factor of some pedals like a fuzz, wah or modulation pedals, it’s more subtle, but epic at the same time.
I normally use it in front of a drive pedal or driven amp to just fatten it up, sometimes almost into fuzz territory. The eq and treble boost functions really help to keep it in the mix.
I also use it at home for these purposes, then when it’s late at night, if the amps master volume is a little too sensitive, I can use this pedal to have better control of the volume.
On top of this it’s a clean boost and sustain pedal if needed!
This is the one pedal I doubt I will ever sell.
       What’s yours?

    Came here to say this.

When I bought it, I thought it was a bit of an expensive Gamble, but the demos were so good and it solved a few problems for me including making a lot of space on my board.

I hate having loads of pedals and this one replaced 3 in one shot.

I like a simple easy to set up straightforward rig with a great guitar amp and this sits in between.

    it’s brilliant

I think mine would be the Boss DS-1w. It’s the quintessential distortion pedal and does exactly what you’d hope and expect. But it also cleans up with the volume pot incredibly well and can be brilliantly subtle if you want it to.

Nice. I've always wanted to test drive one of the Legend AMT pedals.

They are really good. I had the R2 and P2.

They even responded to other drives / boosts in a very amp like way.

I’ve only got one pedal, so it would have to be that!

The Benson Preamp, the circuit is based on their Benson Amps Chimera 30 watt guitar amplifier, but substitutes FET transistors for the vacuum tubes.

I do really like it because it covers a lot of ground, from a Clean Boost, through Distortion & into Light Fuzz territory, which is perfect for my needs.
