Can anyone recommend a light compact active floor wedge?

Just for monitoring my vocals. We mostly play with only the vocals going though the PA and everything else stage sound.

Thanks!

Not sure they fall under "compact" but we use a couple of 10" Alto units (TX310 and TX410) in the band - one at the front and another at the back behind the drummer. Not particularly heavy and plenty loud enough.

If you're more of an acoustic act then the Behringer "personal monitor" thing is great, on top of a spare mic stand. But it won't cut it if you're a full electric band giving it some beans.

I have various monitors, wedge monitors, Alto PA type on its side and a Behringer B205D personal monitor as described above.

The Behringer sounds shit in isolation but works surprisingly well on stage, at least for vocals, as it really cuts through.  It also puts the controls right where you want them, which is great for setting levels and tweaking eq

The Alto 350w 10” ones are very good value.. £140 ish

I just got another this week for a utility monitor.. keys or as a stage speaker for my Boss GT if my amp fails.  Pass through XLR is handy - so just put it on the line to the mains and set the level.

Very compact, very light, nice clear sound.

Sounds like the alto might be the one! Thanks all.

I do find that the Alto's and other, similar, designs don't tilt back far enough meaning that you either need to place them well in front of the singer (which is a problem on your typical small stage) or employ some kind of tilt back amp stand.  Otherwise they are pointing at your knees.

    I used something like this

We used Headrush FRFR108’s in our band for our all 4 of our floor monitors. Clear, plenty loud and you can daisy chain them. Tiny footprint and well recommended.

Another vote for the Behringer B205D. I find it cuts through really well, even in my loudish rock band) - as long as it’s mounted on a pole and quite close to you at head height.
