Whatever it is - it has been run very hot for a considerable time. The winged C normally indicates Russian,

    Looks like a Svetlana (Winged C) 6L6GC.

It has been running hot, but I don't think *that* hot - there's no discolouration on the plate, which there normally is if they're really cooked. It's probably fine as a spare - not much use otherwise, unless you have one of the rare single-6L6 amps (eg Fender Champ 12).

  • I haven't bought valves for years, but I used to buy Svetlana Winged C 6L6s and it looked just like that.

I'll give it a go. I do have a wee swart that takes 6v6 or 6l6. I have a string feeling it was in a Cornell I had a while back, which makes sense. I wonder if I'll notice a difference with my cloth ears!

It works a treat. I do recall putting it to one side.
