Laney iron heart 60w head - opinions please

nickpnickp Frets: 203
They are sensibly priced.  But seem to mention “metal” a lot when they are talked about.

What about for a soul/pop/classic rock band. So a lot of sonic ground covered.  Clean. Edge of breakup. Light drive, middling and classic rock etc

Also is the effects loop a goodun?

I think I can pick one up sub £300 if I am lucky in the next week or two

thanks.

I've owned an Ironheart Studio head. The cleans are very clean and the drive is very modern heavy rock and metal orientated. Edge of cleans and light overdrive would need to come from pedals in my opinion
    The effects loop is fine

I had an Iron heart 60 head. Although it may be thought of as a metal orientated amp I thought it was way more versatile than that. The cleans are nice and full, crunch and lead can be tamed to do blues and rock. The FX loop is fine. It has a boost on the footswitch. Check out this video...

Whooof! That's a GREAT sounding amp. I've said for donkeys years that Laney amps are just so hugely under rated.
I started out with nothing..... but I've still got most of it left (Seasick Steve)

I have one, first Laney I ever bought and I like it a lot. (Not gigging though, so YMMV.) I like the extra boost option.
