Help to identify Strat pickups

Hi,

So I bought a set of pickups off ebay sold as Pure Vintage 65 pickups. When they arrived today Ive realised they arent what they claim to be. The flags for me are ... black bobbins rather than grey, bevelled pole pieces , middle pickup ( although not marked ) seems to be RWRP as two of the pickups stick together , the third will then repel either of the other two pickups.

They do however have ... staggered pole pieces  / cloth hookup wires/  fibre bobbins. / tape wrapped over the wire coils. Ive messaged the seller and he said he bought them " off an auctions site " advertised as PV 65's . I said I would like to return them and he said ok, or alternatively would I take 50% refund. I paid £95 for them. Can anyone help to try and identify what these are. These are for a strat Im building and yet to make the body so I cant really wire them up and test them. Ive included a cpl photos which could hopefully help. They seem to be decently enough made but Im a bit wary of what they may or may not be....

Any help greatly appreciated

    My two penn'orth.

Somebody installed Fender PV65 pickups in a Stratocaster and stored the stock pickups in the Fender packaging.

Once enough time passes, it is easy for a vendor to believe that the contents of the packaging are what the label says they are.

I own an AV65 Stratocaster. The bottom vulcanised bobbin plates are definitely grey. I cannot remember whether the top plates are black.
Loneliness is a cloak you wear.
A deep shade of blue is always there.

Yeah that was my thoughts too. I cant figure out what these are, just going round in circles with AI trying to figure it out. Anyways I took took 50% refund and kept the pick ups, these measure 5.5ohms for the neck neck and bridge and 5.4 for the middle, I figure for £47.50 they should be ok.

The black tape covering the copper coils reminds me of the pickups in some Fender Japan vintage style models.

Ahh thats interesting  cheers, I thought the tape might help identify them. I will have to wait a while to test these, they're for one of four strats Im building, the necks are done but Ive still got the bodies to make.

Do you have a digital multimeter to measure the DC Resistance of each pickup?
That might help to give a better idea what brand and model the pickups are.
From what I can see of the current spec, the Pure Vintage '65 pickups should all be around 5.9 kOhms.

Ive borrowed a multimeter, all three pickups read between 5.4 and 5.5 kOhms, so a low output set. The mystery continues
