I'd imagine they're a lot like budget versions of Eastman guitars, but with Venetian cutaways and headstocks copied from Maybach.

I'm sure but I have had an epiphany .....I've got all the Custom Shop /Boutique stuff but I bought an Artist Strat and a Bax cheapie for a few hundred quid . Honestly , they are pretty much as good .
I regard an Eastman as a budget Gibson but any that I have played are equally as good ....how bad can a budget Eastman be ?

I've got a Stanford, but one of their acoustics from about 15 years ago, it's pretty much the cheapest acoustic guitar I own but it's my No.1 by a mile, but it has it's quirks.

Stanford AFAIK they are a bit of an enigma like some of the MIC brands.  Who makes their guitars?  Difficult to know.

I'll start with my one.  I have a PS10 OM, which as much as I have gathered was from the time when Furch were involved for some of their designs and even went to make some guitars in Chechia that had the the Stanford logo on the headstock and some key differences in design.

My one is MIC all the way, but it's dimensions are exact to the old Furch OM32, and it has the thinnest poly finish I've come across.  I have no idea which MIC factory made it though, it's incredibly lightly built and doesn't seem to be built by Eastman, or the factories that made for some of the other brands I have owned or played.

Somewhere along the lines Stanford stopped making acoustics and I think the electrics were made by one of the bigger factories then finished in Chechia again but I think by Maybach now (don't take my word for it).

I've not played one of the new electrics, but if I was interested in one of them I'd have no hesitations but personally I'd rather pay a hundred or so more for one of the new satin finished Eastman LP's styles if I was looking for a new budget LP style.

I’ve always been intrigued by their CR 30 Thinline as an affordable long neck ES330 alternative, I really like the sunburst on them. Wish they had a mahogany neck though. Massively prefer the look of them to Eastman guitars.

And yeah… I always thought they were connected to Maybach.

Anybody have the Fatboy 75 model with humbuckers? I have ES175 gas lately and these look good.

They have the same address in Germany as Maybach so at very least they're being distributed by them.

I've got a Stanford OM5-Vintage. Very good guitar. Made by Furch according to the label. I kept this and sold a Larrivee OM.

The inexpensive "CR Vanguard Antique Violin" has a carved Spruce top like a Gibson L4C.
