Star Bar. I have a feeling that the filling is just crushed up bits of other bars that they've cleaned out of the machines, covered in chocolate.  Amazing though.

Any Cadbury Bar before they got taken over by whoever it was (Kraft?) that changed the recipe…
Don’t even look at it! Don’t touch it! Don’t point even...ok, you’ve seen enough of that one.

Don’t really have choccy bars now, ice cream is my vice. I do like those Flipz chocolate pretzels tho.

Old Jamaica back in the day, best choccy bar ever.
Yes it was ........sadly missed Rum and Raisin and a mixture of milk and Plain chocolate ;it was fantastic

My all time favourite was probably Nutty, which didn't contain any chocolate.
I remeber those but was put off because even though it was peanuts they looked like the stiff turd of a Sweetcorn lover

    Chocolate… not really my thing!
My opinions in context: I rarely gig and don't play guitar for a living. I record my own music for a non-profit org's research and education videos. I have modified or built most of my equipment and I owe a big debt of gratitude to many people on this forum (you know who you are!).

    Yes.

Have a look for an American bar called ‘Payday’ - it’s the same thing and bloody lovely

Starbar, something about the texture just works. Like a Snickers without the stodge. Quite like a Wispa or Wispa Gold too.

I’ve cut right down on chocolate since the Yanks ruined all my favourite Cadbury’s bars, Kraft you bastards. My all time favourite was a Cabana but if I do indulge now I buy the Moser Roth stuff from Aldi.

And Almond Joy is basically a Bounty with an almond (who knew?) on top. American “chocolate” is mostly vile, sickly, greasy stuff, Hershey’s being the worst example, with Reece’s not far behind.

Star Bar, Boost, Crunchie (for that pure sugar hit), Picnic, Biscuit & Raisin Yorkie, Toffee Crisp and the occasional DAIM bar.

Sorry to hear that @Neil. It takes a while, but you get used to it, not that that will be any consolation to you now.

Vast levels of wax in US chocolate so they don’t melt on the counters in hot southern states shops.

I've heard of PayDay - probably seen it in a Stephen King book - but never knew what it was.  It does look very similar, except it looks like the peanuts are salted(?) and on Nutty they were unsalted.  Americans have to be that bit more unhealthy...

There used to be a good Cadbury's one (I think) called Tiffin.  I think it must only have been available in Ireland,  I used to get them when we went on family holidays there in the 80s. It was chocolate with bits of biscuit and raisin in as I remember.  Very nice.

My dad always refers to chocolate in general as 'nutty'. I always figured it was a Cockney expression, didn't realise Nutty was an actual thing.

I can't explain that one.  I don't think it was on the market long enough (1972 to 1980-something) to change British confectionery naming conventions...

I just Googled it and apparently it's British armed forces slang dating back to the '40s. So it's completely unrelated to the Rowntrees product. Can't find any info on the etymology though.
